Apprentice - a Bit Much!

I did not care for the "new" revised Apprentice that was aired on Sunday night.

I didn't like how they have the leader of the winning team sitting in George's place. Bill Rancik or any other former Apprentice winner is ok because they paid their dues to get there.

I also didn't care for the vibes in the board room. The energy didn't flow. There seemed to be a disconnect. Maybe it was me wanting to disconnect!

I don't care for having the losing team sleep in the back yard - it seems so" survivorish" looking at them through night vision, but definitely not as good as survivor. Maybe it will end up being hilarious - who knows?

I don't like the idea of "the haves" and "the have-nots". I guess this is supposed to make the losing team really hungry to win.

It seems that Trump is going for the sensational to boost his ratings. I found it to be quite boring (yawn) and do hope they pick up the pace with interesting projects.

I just prefer seeing their strategies for winning, their skills in use and more focused on how to win the next task, then the fact that they are both physically and emotionally miserable because of the decadent lifestyle flaunted in front of them by the winning team verses the meager and inconvenient conditions the losing team will remain in until they turn the tables and win.

Yes, on previous Apprentice shows, they did get sleep deprived, had to work hard and were miserable because they didn't get to celebrate the win. Then they had to go to the board room, but the past shows seemed more professional and didn't depend on the sensational.

However, this backyard version of the Apprentice is a bit much in this girl's opinion.

Seaspray: I just watched the opening episode! Now I can carry on with my plans. Check back here in a day or so to see what I have planned.

I agree with much of your review, actually. It did smack of sensationalising to me...as if they were trying a bit too hard. I've been DYING to find someone I can discuss them with, and I wanna know--do you think the ratings fell cos of Trump vs Rosie?

P.S. this is exactly the same reply I posted to your comment on me blog.

That's a good question Angry Medic. I don't know why his ratings were so low on the first night. Some people aren't Rosie fans and so it also could've worked in his favor.

If they tuned out after it started, then I DO understand. I totally looked forward to every show in the past and have picked the winners or close to the final few. I will give this a chance.

It will be fun to bounce opinions off fellow bloggers and so I shall visit your site as well.

My all time favorite reality show is The Amazing Race (AWESOME)then Survivor and Apprentice.

There is also an interesting reality fishing show that takes place in the frigid Behring Sea. We love the Ocean, boats and winter so this show provides for some interesting entertainment. I think being a fisherman on the high seas is supposed to be one of the most dangerous jobs. The show gets really interesting when they are in blizzard conditions.

i don't like that it was filmed in L.A. i don't like the tent. i don't like that it has become a vehicle for the trump family members to get face time on tv. but i will continue to watch because its the Apprentice!

Thanks for stopping by M.A. and you're right - it is the Apprentice - so I will watch too. I just hope it gets better and tones down on the pretentiousness.

I think it is good to be proud of your accomplishments but a really classy person doesn't brag, but then the materialistic dreams are the dangling carrot for the competitors.

I'm not articulating this very well. I admire successful people and think they deserve everything they have earned and it is wonderful when they can inspire other people to succeed as well.

As I stated in my post, the real attraction for me is seeing someone use and excel at their skills and I love fair competition.

I guess Bloggers going to allow me to comment now (maybe). I think the competitions are the best part. I miss Caroline and George. I liked it when I.Trump stepped in for Caroline, but I don't know if I'm going to like her full time. I hear Trump's son is also going to be on. I can't wait to see what angry medic has up his sleeve.

Actually, I agree with both of you. I'm a huge Trump fan so this feels like blasphemy, but this version seemed a little too pretentious. Especially when Trump bragged about his mansion and gave his wife and baby so much screen time, and seemed to lose focus on the REAL reason for the show: the candidates and their skills.

I miss Carolyn and George LOADS! Ivanka's okay, some people say she owns the boardroom but she just seemed to stick up for daddy a lot. She was much friendlier with the candidates (read: less bitchy) than Carolyn but in the boardroom she showed she could be very bitchy too.

Stay tuned M.A., it's almost up! I'd appreciate your comments when it goes up, Seaspray. Thanks for the comment on my blog :)

M.A. - I am glad your able to come back into my neighborhood. :) I am happy that I will be able to bounce this show off of both of you. Except for 1 friend, (and it's not definite)I don't know anyone else
who watches the show.

I really liked George. I think he brought some balance into the boardroom. Maybe he's unable to leave NY.

I think Ivanka seems to have good business sense and is fair and nicer than Carolyn, although I liked Carolyn.

Looking forward to your Apprentice Angry Medic. :)

okay, i see i am dealing with professionals here. y'all know how to correctly spell these people's names. i'm going to have to start paying closer attention.

Your so funny M.A.! By the way - it seems Dinosaur Doc is thoroughly impressed with your bitchy lawyer letter and has started a contest on his site for the best way to say f.u. (excuse me) in a letter. Amusing and this should be interesting. :) Also, I agree with him - let your lawyer self come out.

It would appear your cover is totally blown and your lurking days are over. :)

The Angry Medic said...

Who, M.A.? Oh her cover was blown long ago. She gets more comments than some medblogs she reads :)

Seaspray, I thought George retired? He was quite senior after all.

Ivanka was nice. I'm hoping she's more than just eye candy. And the Trumps seem to get loads of screen time here--I hear Don Jr's also gonna join the cast soon.

SeaSpray said...

Yes A.M. - true about M.A. She could visit anonymously, but then those who track would know it is her, unless she uses another system.

George retired? Didn't know. Yes, Ivanka is definitely pretty.

Hopefully, tomorrow nite's airing will be better. I don't think it is good for the Apprentice that it is being pitted against 24 - another totally addicting show. I will probably watch the Apprentice and TiVo 24 which is on 2 hrs Sunday and 2 hrs Monday. THAT(24)is an intense show.

I am looking forward to what you are doing with the Apprentice on your blog. :)

Hi M.A. - I put my opinion of last nite's show on Angry Medic's site. I am really trying to like the LA version.
