The Other Side of Time

The image “” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A Death! What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating...

...and you finish off as an orgasm.” (George Carlin)

P.S. I don't condone drugs and I totally believe in Heaven
(There is so much more than our 3 1/2 dimensional lives can comprehend!)-just think this quote is quite funny. :)

In our mortal experience, we experience the 4 dimensions of length, width, depth and time. Actually, only 3 1/2 because we only know time as moving forward. We can't go backward. There is no time in eternity because it is out of "our known" dimensions. The reason God is in the past, present and future - that he knows the beginning from the end - is because he is beyond time.

Think of our earth as a basketball, suspended and rotating. Envision a time line running across the center of the sphere. All the lines from the beginning to the end represents different periods of time in history. You, being removed from the ball (outside the ball's dimensions) can see it all - from the beginning to the end.

Scientists believe there are 10 -11 dimensions and I heard an astrophysicist say once that he thought there were more.

Jesus (after his resurrection) entered the room without opening the door (materializing through) he could've been operating in another dimension. His resurrected body is a type for what we can expect to have after death. He could materialize into a room, he could be touched, he could communicate and be a distinct presence and he could even eat. He topped all that by ascending upward, through our known dimensions and into the eternal presence of his heavenly Father. He has also said that he would be coming back and so from that statement we know there are many possibilities, like being able to move in and out of dimensions.
Angels would operate in the different dimensions as well. How cool is THAT?

At one time, they believed that our earth was flat until knowledge increased, demonstrating other realities. So, how many more infinite possibilities are there after this life that we don't know of because of our finite earthly limitations?

I'm just saying....

P.S. One of my all time favorite ED docs and I used to get into theological discussions every now and then. He was of a totally different faith. He actually professed to being an atheist and said that he only went through the motions of his faith for his family.

One night, after one of our discussions, he said "Ahhh Pat, your naivete is so refreshing." and he gave me a big smile. Then I said "Ahhh _ _ _ , your ignorance is so amusing." and I smiled at him. We chuckled together. Sometimes, great minds have to agree to disagree. :)

Quest for hilarious movies :)

I am on a quest for hilarious movies. I welcome all suggestions. One of my all time favorites is still "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" with John Candy and Steve Martin. :) There are so many good ones that I haven't seen, that I know I wanted to see when I saw them advertised - but never did go see them and now I don't remember what they are.

Chrysalis angel - thank you for your recommendation for "Gold Card". I will look that one up and let you know what I think. :)

Just like the Pic :)

$14.99 - Listen Up?????

I am watching a movie ("Dances With Wolves") and am venting on the last commercial that was just aired. For only $14.99, you can purchase a device called Listen Up. A little device that can easily be concealed. There is an ear piece that is attached via wire to the recorder. Yes - recorder.

Gee - not only can I slink around corners to the tune of the "Pink Panther" theme song (on my cell) but I can do so like a pro with this handy little device! I can Spy! I can get all the private info I want! Why - certainly, I have NOTHING BETTER to do than to listen to everyone's private conversations!

Oh sure - they demonstrate that you can listen to nature sounds or children playing at a distance more clearly. That's a good thing. But they show people - everyday people (or...are they?) listening to everyday people.

I am just annoyed at the idea that people can have their privacy so blatantly intruded upon. Sure -I know that we live in an age of spy satellites along with all the other governmental capabilities to gather intelligence and that sadly, it is necessary. Then there is You Tube, paparazzi, cell phone cams, video cams seemingly everywhere and even spy ware on one's own computer.

Now - we have an infomercial touting the advantages of "listening in". Call me crazy - but I think it is important to respect an individual's privacy. Unless, for some governmental or local agency working for the good in a given situation - people have a right to their own privacy. And maybe, sometimes an undeserving individual's privacy is worth being violated for a greater good - but only then. Then who and what determines that, etc.,etc.,? I am only complaining about the absurdity of people walking around with such devices for the purpose of spying on everyday people.) Sure, I have joked about wanting to be a fly on the wall sometimes, but I really don't want to. I don't want to do that to someone else and I wouldn't want it done to me.

After watching this commercial, I now have have an image of little grandmas everywhere listening in on random conversations. Remember the nosy neighbor Gladys Kravitz on "Bewitched"? Move over Jack Bauer - here come the $14.99 techno spies!

I am grateful to be alive now, at this time in history. We have so many advantages.

Sometimes though.... just sometimes -I wouldn't mind sipping ice tea while rockin on those big ol' rockers on the front porch with Aunt Bea, Andy and Opi back in Mayberry. Mmmmm.... and maybe have a big ol' slice of Aunt Bea's home made apple pie too. :)

I'm FREE! I'm FREE - Stent FREE at Last!!! :)

The post below is basically just me giving myself a pep talk stating my game plan for the next 6 weeks to further enhance my healing process. A reaffirmation to my self if you will, as to where I have been, where I am and where I hope to be at the end of this, while ultimately, I surrender it all to God and his infinite wisdom to direct my paths. I am FINALLY at peace with all of this.

I believe in healing miracles, but I also know that God works through doctors, nurses and all sorts of medical professionals and thank God for THEM. :)

"Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God." - anonymous

So, while I do believe that God can do anything, effecting any outcome - I also believe that he gives us common sense to do the best that we can. Even though I know God "can" drive the car - I am pretty certain that he expects me to keep my hands on the wheel when "I" am driving. :)

I don't know if there are variations in a double j stent - but this last stent was a jj stent)
YEEHA! Just a very HAPPY girl to be free - to hopefully have forever to never need to be stented again. A girl can dream! :)

I am so very grateful for the physician and group that has taken care of me this past year. I know that he has done everything possible to facilitate the healing of this ureteral stricture. If it weren't for the fact that I strongly believe in confidentiality in an arena where other people don't have a choice in what I as a blogger have to say - I would tell the world to go to that office. (Ha! like the WORLD reads my blog!)

The point that I am at now, is that the ureteral stent that was in me for the last 11 weeks was removed yesterday and after 6 weeks, I will go for another Lasix mag 3 renal scan that will help determine whether or not the ureteral stricture is remaining open. Both surgeons feel that based on recent films/procedures (CAT with contrast 3mm cut, upright KUB most recent OR retro cysto along with my stated symptoms) that surgery may be indicated.

My med hx has been such this past year, that I have consistently felt considerable discomfort post- stent removal and then get relief when stented again. I have been resistant to surgery. I am praying and believing that I will not have to have surgery. I am not going to utter one negative word to even one person, not even my husband or closest of friends and definitely not the doctors about any discomfort that I could potentially have - not - one - word. I could vent. They would listen. But - I will not. I do have an excellent support system, for whom I am certain there is an extra special place in heaven for listening and loving me throughout this past year. You KNOW who you are -Thank you very much!. :)

I REFUSE to give in to any symptoms whatsoever - rien, nichts, nada, niente - NOTHING - no, not one. So there! I am going to fight this on every level that I possibly can.

In one of my recent comments on my site, I stated what my game plan is. I don't recall verbatim, but I am planning on doing everything that I can think of to nurture my mind, body and spirit.

I have already been implementing better food choices . (The closer to how God made it the better!) I am going to drink aloe juice because of it's healing properties. I have had a gallon sitting in fridge for over a year. Health food store said it lasts indefinitely but as of next week I am going to use a different brand that someone has researched and feels it is the best choice. I should have been doing that all along - don't know why I didn't?

Going back to the Y. I had hoped to get back there in January but just not doable with the stent. I CAN'T WAIT TO SWIM and also to participate in a specific fitness program they offer! I want to build my cardiovascular system up along with overall fitness.

Funny movies and programs as much as possible. (The Norman Cousins thing)

Go BACK to church. Anyone that knows me knows that I DO have a really strong faith in God, but I have never been strong in church attendance. I actually do belong to a fantastic church that really loves God and loves all people that go there. There is a lot I could say here about my relationship with God but that could be another post entirely and perhaps will at some point. Suffice it to know that I have indeed experienced healing miracles (yes - miracles) in my own life and God's favor throughout my life. Having said that - I do have to wonder how it is that I set God aside this past year - when I needed him most? So - there are many things that I can be doing in the faith realm that I haven't been - but am going to again. This prodigal daughter has returned. :)

SLEEP! I am someone who burns the candle at both ends. I KNOW how important sleep is and yet I persist in not getting enough. Even God rested! I heard a doctor say once that she goes to bed at 10 pm when ever possible because the more hours one goes to bed before 2am the better it is to help prevent cancer. I don't know if that is true, but our bodies do need time to rejuvenate for various reasons.

I have many, many things that I want to accomplish over the next 6 weeks - some practical and some fun and I have some people that I want to help. Every day, is truly a gift from God and I embrace this time with a joie de vivre!

Having said all of the above, if the test along with symptoms indicates the need for surgery - then I will tell the surgeon to have his staff book the OR for my case. No more indecision. No more life on hold. Done deal. I will at that point know that the only way past this is to go through it.

I do know that all things work together for good. They happen for a reason that isn't always obvious at the time but we then come through stronger and better equipped to help ourselves and others in the future.

So, all prayers welcome. Also - I am open to any suggestions as to how I can possibly further the facilitation of my healing process.

Practical Joke :)

A couple of nights ago, my younger son had some friends (H.S. seniors) over to play video games. Technology is truly amazing. They use a couple of TV's and something about routers and play against each other and some others on line.

They get really loud but it warms my heart. Boys are really funny and I so thoroughly enjoy their humor!

Some of them are on our local first aid squad.

Some other guys that weren't here had stealthily come up to our house and grabbed our snow shovels that were by one of the front doors. They then proceeded to totally bury the car of one of the guys that were inside our house. (It was parked on the road in front of our house and it took a half hour for them to do this.) The pranksters then parked their car away from his but to where they could still watch. They called the guy and asked him why he didn't respond to the first aid call (he was on call) and he said he didn't hear it.

When he came out to our family room he told me that he may or may not be back. (this was around midnight) He went running out the door trying to get his stuff on.

Evidently, when he got to where he thought his car was parked and with key in hand ready to open his car door - he just stood there - and stared! While he was still processing this, the others exuberantly came bounding over and then helped him clean his car off. :)

They then left to bury some other cars and built a snowman made out of ice chunks (I saw the pic yesterday) and left it on the hood of another car. Too funny!!!

P.S. Yesterday, my husband with a puzzled look on his face said "do you know where our snow shovels are?? There is snow all across the road and the shovels are ..... gone???".

They need to bring our shovels back. :)

A Friend's Most Embarrassing Moment

The story below is not about SeaSpray. It happened some years back to her dear friend Donna. While SeaSpray is an avid scrabble player, she has never smoked cigarettes (other than being a naturally curious 16 yr old who then proceeded to cough and gag - YUK!) and therefore would not have been out buying cigarettes. If this had happened to SeaSpray, you would not be reading this now because, she would've died in the store. :) Besides, trust me - SeaSpray has enough of her own embarrassing moments to tell and will - except for one story. One story that she will never be able to tell - ever - and it is a good one. No - SeaSprays lips are forever sealed on that one . ;)

SeaSpray is totally annoyed right now because although she scanned this story that was sent to her by her friend - she doesn't yet know how to transfer it over to her blog and so has to retype it. Having said that - SeaSpray is totally amused that she is talking in the third person. :)

SeaSpray has removed Donna's story. SeaSpray posted this story because she came across it while cleaning out some paperwork. She had Donna's permission to put it up on her site but she has requested that SeaSpray take it down because she wants to do something with it in the future. So, SeaSpray won't be able to share Donna's funny bird story either. Drats! Double Drats! SeaSpray has said this before - Donna IS the funniest person that SeaSpray knows and they have shared many, many moments of exquisite humor and laughter. :) :) :)

SeaSpray's P.S. Donna had sent this and another story out to some friends via the postal service. A mutual friend of ours and I were cracking up over the phone while reading parts of her letter to each other. We KNOW her and so we could totally envision this debacle. I must confess that at that point in time we didn't feel any empathy or sympathy toward her plight but were instead just falling over in laughter with tears streaming down our faces practically unable to breathe - again, because WE KNOW HER!

Me and My Tiny Tear Falling Softly

This is an inside joke to someone and THEY KNOW who they are! :)

Excerpt From Grey Matter Blog

Because that’s really what it’s all about. We have to cherish the time that we have here, and love the people who surround and support us, even if they make us crazy. Because things happen. Brain surgery, and Alzheimer’s and weddings. And the worst thing is to come to the end of your life and realize, like Ellis, that you should have tried harder. - Joan Rater ("Wishin' and Hopin")

P.S. And I would add - Thank God for the people who surround, support and still love us even if we make them crazy.

WHAT is in MY MOUTH???? - Part III

The image “” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

To all of you that have been patiently waiting for me to finish the end of the mystery coffee saga - I just posted it. I had started it on 1/30/06 and went back to the post today to finish it - so please check the January archives.

As some of you know, I have been a bit distracted of late. Thank you to all the special people who have been there for me - you know who you are. :)
