The most authentic thing....

“The most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to overcome, to endure, to transform, to love and to be greater than our suffering.” (Ben Okri)

Yes LBP - Glad you liked it.

We never know what life has in store for us and when things come at us from out of nowhere totally broadsiding us, knocking us down - we have choices. We can become bitter, resentful, angry, fill up with self pity, self righteousness and even become doubtful of our worth as a human being. We can take the negative route - but to what gain?

We can wallow in the mud of our negative circumstances, worry about it, fuss about it, i.e. let the negative stuff keep us stuck in the mud. How, does that help us? How does it help others?

So....we can rise up, step out of the mud, brush ourselves off and with head up and a good purpose in our hearts - start walking forward, pressing on toward the wonderful things that God has in store for us.

Hopefully, in this process we will have become stronger, wiser and more compassionate - being able to forgive ourselves and others when necessary - truly being able to create,to overcome,to endure,to transform,to love and to be greater than our suffering.

This quote spoke to my heart and to who I am as a person and my belief system.

Thanks for stopping by LBP. :)

I am so sorry for your losses Chrysalis Angel. I am glad the comment helped. Your words have been a blessing to me many times over and I am grateful to you for imparting your wisdom, insights and compassion. :)

I also lost a friend this week and may post about it. We went to the viewing Tuesday night. We've known each other for 30 yrs. We weren't super close but familiar friends at a distance if that makes any sense. I will miss her but I know she is in a better place.
