Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day

Fathers - love your children - they love you and need you for so much. Not just the material but even more importantly your time, wisdom and guidance given in love. Laugh and have fun with your kids. Build good memories.

Also one of the best things a parent can do for their child is to love their spouse. If the parents love each other than all that trickles down to the child as well and everyone benefits.

Happy Father's Day to my husband and to my older son! :)

May you all have a wonderfully God Blessed Father's day! :)

I'm going to admit here (which I don't usually like to talk about) that I had a...let's say....not so great dad. I had to be forced to show some fake "love" at his death (although I wasn't cold-hearted--I had a terrible pity for the alcoholic way he died and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy). Although I try hard to keep the Biblical feeling of "duty" towards parents, I always feel sad on Father's Day, which is probably some very unhealthy and non-productive self pity.

But I do rejoice for those people who can celebrate the day in a happy way---and I hope you have a great one!

Hi BRN - I am sorry that was your experience. You see - we are kindred spirits here because my father was absent from my life. He ended up being one of those deadbeat Dads.

This Father's day post was REALLY long and I suppose was a catharsis of sorts. I took it down in the wee hours of the morning and just left the part you see now.

I don't mind sharing the facts - I just didn't know if it was more than I should say. It wasn't even bad - just sad I suppose.

I'm not bitter. It was what it was.
My negative experiences taught me compassion. Ha! Probably made me a little neurotic too - but who among us isn't too some degree? :)

So I flipped the post over to SeaSpray's Secret place - my private blog.

I will bring it back if anyone thinks they would like to read it.

I focus on my husband and son

Thank you for the father's Day wish. I am blessed with a great family and I count those blessings everyday.

Awww I. U. - that's so sweet. :) And they are blessed to have such a loving and hardworking husband and father. :)

O.k., I took the cathartic Father's day post back down. I did put it back up for almost 24 hours but then I removed it again this morning.

It wasn't anything bad - just my own reflections and some advice to dads out there along with some general opinions.

I hope for anyone that read it that if anything applied to you that you found it helpful in some way.

Maybe I'll put it back - not sure.
