Vompensad!

Vompensad. Does anyone know what this means? Its origin? To me...it sounds like a word that should have an exclamation point after it. But I have tried it other ways with varying inflections in my voice.

Vompensad?

Vompensad.

Oh...vom-p-e-n-s-a-d... she whispers ever so softly.

Is it urgent, nurturing, funny or loving? What is this vompensad?

I think it sounds like an order or command.

Can anyone answer this?

I have no idea, just wanted to say your comments on Sids blog were beautiful.

A Seasprayism? Haha! I like that. Yes i guess it is.

Hi Jen and Angel. Okay it was a typo. It was supposed to be "compensated" but I was tired when typing it and my fingers did their own thing.

Vompensad=compensated! :)

Hi Peggikaye -Thank you so much for saying that. I have gone back a few times wondering if I should take it out. I know if someone isn't familiar with the faith it must seem so narrow minded and out there to them.

I never want to offend anyone. I am still wrestling with putting what I actually wrote the night before.

Dr Schwab was gracious in his response and I suppose it does appear to be circular thinking in as much as we're born, we die, we go back but there is still so much more and we aren't going to be strumming harps on a cloud. We will be known as we were known and the talents and experiences we have here will be used on the other side and improved and it is a continuous learning process with relationships and all kinds of fun things mixed in. Plus there must be so much more we don't know or haven't tapped into yet. So while it may seem as limited thinking ...actually...I think the possibilities are endless and will be.

Thanks for the encouragement and for stopping by. :)

It's hard, is it not? We see our thinking as logical, solid, and well thought out, with beginning, middle and end.
They see it as circular.

They see theirs as logical solid and well thought out with beginning middle and end.
We see it as circular.

In the end, it does come down to
FAITH.

He is wonderfully gracious. *smile*

Hi Dreaming Again - It's just sad when I see how grossly misunderstood Christianity is. If they read up on Jesus himself they would know that when some people in the name of God do awful things that it is nothing like what he taught throughout his own life.

Also...we don't limit God. I think it takes more imagination to believe there is no God than to look around and believe a higher being is responsible for all these creations...here and way beyond anything we can see or comprehend. I don't care what means God used to bring it about...but as you said...through faith we believe.

Then some people's statements while well meaning were so off the wall...but then I suppose they think ours are. :)

I am still wrestling with whether or not I should put what I originally wrote.

Thanks for stopping by. :)

Seaspray, I just wanted to tell you I'm proud of you.

I know what post you are talking about. I read it and I haven't been able to bring myself to read the comments. I feel depleted myself at present, and when I saw it my heart just hurt and I had to click off. I'm not up for a battle on a site. For some reason...no one attacks you - my lucky girl, that's as it should be. We should all be able to express ourselves freely, as long as we don't harm one another. That just saddened me so. I'm glad you could find your voice.

Hi Angel-Even if they did attack me...I would still go back and I would be kind. I have heard that when a person has anger that there is actually fear right behind the anger. I am glad they don't though.

I try to say things only in response to what is there. As it gets longer in the comment section it gets more difficult. And as you know...one can just pick one topic, one statement and expound on it at length.

I think theology is the most interesting subject to discuss and you can't exhaust it. Probably why God has referred to the Bible as the living word.

I am interested in other points of view. It's how we learn or teach. And...when I here how some people have obviously been hurt in "the name of God" I take notice and makes me all the more sensitive to the fact that we need to be tolerant, understanding and remember Jesus as our example. And that IS WHAT IS IMPORTANT. People need to understand what Jesus taught but it seems they really don't want to know. They prefer to rail against him. But they could not argue with how he lived his life and if they understood him, they would also know when some "person of faith" is off track with their behavior or faith and not espouse generalizations against the entire religious community.

We are all works in progress. God knows I make mistakes (even when I KNOW better) every day! None of us are perfect or ever will be.

Where I take issue is when Christians and sincere, good people of other faiths are trashed for their faith and lumped in with the terrorists and evil /misguided people that have done bad things in the name of God when he had no part in it...then he and they get the bad rep.

I am truly perplexed when I see otherwise intelligent, rational, compassionate people gnash their teeth and rail against EVERYONE of faith instead of being discerning, fair and seeking the truth. Pure logic would suggest that EVERYONE is not a lunatic fringe terrorist or Cool aid drinking automaton for their faith.

But some of their words tells me that they NEED to believe the worst so they can justify their positions. This isn't true for everyone but it does come through loud and clear with some.

I do appreciate their questions and they are right to do so. Even Paul said we should be discerning and not follow every spirit that comes along. I can especially appreciate the blog author's railing and feeling hurt about the prospect of hell. I really can. I can even appreciate how off the wall, crazy making it must be for a nonbeliever to think that any rationally thinking human being can believe these seemingly ludicrous and to them dangerous stories. I do.

But...I also know and understand the Christian faith teachings and frankly...it makes a lot of sense.

Paul in the new testament talks about how the non believer can not understand...that they have spiritual blinders on.

I appreciate your kind words.

I also hope that you are alright and I will e-mail you. :)

Our blog author friend has always been respectful of me although I imagine I must try his patience a little. :)
