Hi Elaine-yes,but people still live a lot longer these days. I saw many clients in their 90s when I worked for LifeLine. So even though there are risks, I am guessing that most of the population benefits from these meds. :)

Hi Rositta-It would be interesting to know what percentage of the population actually succumbs to the side effects vs how many are truly helped.

People died younger or suffered more without the meds in bygone days.

Very true. I wrote a post a while back about this very scenario. I see it all too often.

Exercise is free and there are limited side effects.

You have been writing some good post about becoming more fit and avoiding health issues down the road. When I read them my guiltometer shoots upward..but I am not giving up. :)
