Happy Birthday AngelGirls :)

Photo: I'd like to wish our granddaughter, Wrenna Mae DePue, a Very Happy Birthday today!! Starting her 4th year...and making the most of every day!! We all Love you Wrenna!!

This was put together by our d-i-l's mom, Peggy.

We celebrated both girls birthdays today, since Dev's birthday was Friday and Wren's today.  It was a fun day had by all.  Good company, good food and lots of presents to open.  I had just set the cake, cupcakes and brownies out on the table.  Devan decided to torture me by taking a gazillion super close pictures of me  ..all in fast succession.  I made some faces too. We laughed at them, she threatened  FB and I begged her NOT to put on FB. *Mental note made ...if you don't want goofy pictures of you on FB... DON'T make GOOFY faces. So we were busy laughing over the pictures and her sheer enjoyment at taunting me with them.  Hmmm ...it seems the teasing apple doesn't fall far from this tree ....even 2 generations out.  :) But then ...I happened to look down at the table and exclaimed, "N-O-O-O!  You can't D-O-O-O THAT!"  At which point the two little ones (Wren 4 and Myles 2), looked up at me ...surprised at my reaction ...but not quite ready to stop what they were doing.  Unbeknownst to us, the little critters had both sat themselves down right in front of the desert.  Wren had plunged her hand into the middle of the ice cream cake and Myles had plunged both hands into the heavily chocolate frosted cupcakes.  Both had the evidence (the ice cream and the icing, all across their faces and all over their fingers, which they continued to lick.  Fortunately most of it was in tact.  We lit the candles and sang Happy Birthday.  And Faith our dog sang  (howled) right along with us..  That is her new thing now ...she sings happy Birthday with us - through the entire song now.  Isn't that a riot?!  :)  I should get that on YouTube.  :)

At one point, after everyone had been eating their birthday dessert, I looked across at Myles and he was in total bliss with chocolate icing in both hands and a mustache - beard of chocolate on his face.  :)

KID FUN SPRAY STRING (DOZEN)

Then just before they left, I shocked everyone with spraying a can of silly string at the kids and adult kids too.  Remember that stuff?  The kids had never seen it before and thought it was hilarious.  They were squealing with delight.  Especially after younger son got it away from me and then ...war on.  He really got me good - covering me in silly string - especially my hair and even inside the front of my dress. The more I screamed trying to get away, the harder they laughed and the louder the dog barked.  Thankfully it came out.  And of course I tried throwing it back at them.  And I walked with them outside and as I was hugging out older son good bye, I tried getting it to stick to his back but it wouldn't.  :)

Also, every time they leave ...they continually holler out "Bye-e-e-e-e!  Love you, Bye! Bye! Bye!  I blow kisses and they blow them back and then I catch theirs.  It is this whole routine every time they leave.  And they holler B-y-e-e-e until out of sight.  SOOOOO cute!

Oh and when cleaning up after everyone had left, I discovered that the chair Myles had been sitting in had been completely chocolified.  Ha ha!  he had the seat and back of the wooden chair covered in dried chocolate icing.  Nothing some warm soapy water couldn't take off.

I'm glad I caught that or someone may've ended up with chocolate pants at a most inconvenient time.

Happy Birthday sweet AngelGirls.  :)

Ever Do This? :)

I can relate.

Well not that I ever hoisted one leg up on a tree to tinkle ...with an audience watching.  Well I never did that ever.  Although ...there is a way to use a tree for female tinkling.  It's a good way to keep yourself from getting poison ivy in the south of the border ...ahem ... regions.  Well never mind that.  Just saying.

We women are familiar with long lines for a restroom at intermission times ...or holiday shopping, and other events. This is because women take forever in a restroom. AND because we never go alone.  It doesn't matter if the other woman doesn't have to go - we go in pairs ...or more.  Heck ...we'd recruit a stranger to join us.  ;)  Weed out the non tinklers, and the lines would be greatly reduced.

Men definitely have a leg up on us with this.  (Pun intended. ;)

Don't ever ...

Frontier Thai Seasoning

take the top off a jar of Thai seasoning and INHALE with your nose close to the jar.  WHOA!

Not unless you want to cough, experience a burning nasal passage, sniffle, sneeze and cough and sniffle some more.

Shortly, we're having Thai seasoned chicken, long grain rice and stir fried vegetables with that much desired large Costco bowl of fresh fruit for dessert.

I often make my own fruit salad, but this time of year you don't always know how sweet the fruit will be.  I cannot stand when you buy fruit and when it softens ...it never has any good flavor.  However, I did get some delicious white peaches at Weis the other night.  It is so hot now that tomorrow I am going to make those fresh fruit Popsicles I posted a few posts down.

Anyway ...my nasal passages ARE exceptionally CLEAR right now ...even though still burning.  This too shall pass.

There's always a trade off, I tell you.  ;)

About This Monday in May

First - I was completely cleared in my head to toe exam.  YAY!  And for all the shyness and nerves I spoke of in last night's post ...I actually got into it ...even offering up the secret place and another suggestion.  We discussed some other things and even had some simple things done.  I LOVE that feeling when you are cleared medically and get past the dread of the exam!!!!

So ...tomorrow ...I WILL schedule some other appointments I have been avoiding.  Absolutely ...positively ...I am going to schedule 2 more important appointments.  And after I got home today I also called the urology office to get the paperwork for my upcoming lasix renal scan to be scheduled.

Friday ...may 17th was 26 months post ureteral stent removal, sans relapse.  Double Yay!! YAY!!

Gosh ..today was gorgeous!  I drove with roof and all windows open ...effectively pulling all bouncy body out of my hair (the whole point of rollers), but I don't care - it felt sooo GOOD!  I had clear sailing up a dual lane highway ...traffic lights smiling down at me as they all allowed me through.  Music on - exhilarating ... and so free feeling.  I even managed to avoid political shows and enjoyed the music.

Fortunately, I remembered the cop that was around the last bend before getting into Stockholm.  I wasn't speeding ..well I was 5 miles over.  I think you have to be 10 miles over before they pull you over.  Open roads are such fun to drive on on beautiful days.

So there I was enjoying the music and as I was coming down the mountain ...singing Free Falling with all my heart ...totally into it ...moving to the music ...even when I had to stop when I hit the backed up traffic going into town.  I did turn the music ...just a bit and continued singing ...and then I looked to my left.  Ohhh NO!  I forgot about the traffic sitting directly opposite me, waiting to turn onto the highway and the man in the truck was grinning big time at me!!!  If I could've slunk down under the dash and still driven I would have.  Not an option tho.  So, instead I kept singing ...but not loud at all and definitely not as enthusiastically.  *sigh*  Thank God it was a stranger!

I did this last spring to.  I don't recall if I wrote about it.  I was coming back from Hackettstown, late in the afternoon on a gorgeous day.  the drive from there is really pretty and again ...there I was windows open, hair flying, music loud and I was singing, I Can't Get No Satisfaction ...again with all my heart ...even through the little part of Andover in which traffic slows and I could be easily heard singing.  Except this time I didn't realize it until I was past that area.

Oh well ...I think most of us have fun singing in the car at some point.  I just don't have a great singinng voice, but I forget about it when I'm driving.  :)

And on that note (pun intended), I'm headed out to Costco and yes windows down ...but mindful of where I am if singing.  :)  I am hoping my charms work on the front desk lady because I have to return this hideous electric tooth brush without a receipt.  I will be upset if they don't take it back.  I have one more place to look.  I only used the darn thing twice and felt like I should check for fillings still being in tact.  It was like a road crew was working in my mouth.  And I will do a post on this awful product.  maybe some people like it but I would n-e-v-e-r recommend it.  And I have this major C-R-A-V-I-N-G for their large bowl of fruit salad ...among some other things.

Dermatology Appointment

ABCD

I am going to keep my head to toe derm appointment tomorrow.  (I canceled last week's appointment.)  I'm trying to decide if I will show my beauty mark in a private place.  I did once ...but that was in a moment of courage and even then it was because that doctor was so darned upbeat and positive ... continually saying, "Beauty Mark!  Beauty Mark!" a-n-d  I got caught up in his enthusiasm for my beauty marks.  And why not?  Every girl wants to hear about the beauty all over her body.  :)

It's not easy going through an exam like that and so I may not point out the secret beauty mark (shhhh ...don't tell anyone ;), this time because I feel shy with a capital "S", and frankly ...it looks the same to me. Of course it depends on how thorough the exam is. It will be seen if the exam is super thorough.

Oh Yippee! I get to get nekkid for a stranger to peruse my entire body under bright lights.  It's every woman's dream come true and I can't think of anything more I'd rather do. Yeah  ...that's it ...act as if it will be fun and it will be.  I feel better now.  It will be fun, it will be fun ... it will be FUN ...I tell you.  ;)

Refreshing Popsicle Recipe

Photo: Healthy Popsicles! I'm so making these for my kiddos...if the weather ever decides to warm up! Lol
Ingredients:
3 cups watermelon puree (seedless if possible)
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup chopped fresh strawberries
1 kiwi, peeled and sliced
1 peach or nectarine, diced small
handful fresh cherries, pitted and chopped

Cut the watermelon into chunks and then puree it in a blender until smooth. Set aside.

Set out about 1 dozen popsicle molds (amount needed will vary depending on size of molds). Fill each one with the chopped fresh fruit. Then pour in the watermelon puree until each mold is full to the top. Place a popsicle stick into each one. Place into your freezer and freeze for about 6 to 8 hours.

When ready to serve, run the popsicle molds under warm water for a few seconds and then pull each one out.

Do these look good or what?  Healthy popsicles!  I definitely want to make these when the hot weather gets here.  I think these would be good anytime, but especially refreshing on a hot day. They also make a pretty presentation when served.  Oh ..and guilt free.  :)

I am shopping today and will definitely make sure I get the ingredients to make this recipe.  We usually have all these fruits in the house during the summer.  Peaches aren't ready yet though. ?  I'm not a fan of canned fruit, but I suppose I could get the peaches in their own juice. And maybe a little pineapple would be nice too.

It's basically fruit salad on a stick.

Great recipe for the little critters too.  :)

Fun Getting Something New - So Excited! :) and Stuff

Yay!  After a lot of shopping/research effort - we just had our refrigerator delivered and I just got it all set up on the inside.  :)  I do love it ...especially that we have the stainless steel now.  We were about to remodel the kitchen before I had begun with all the urology issues, but it had to go on the back burner because I had stopped working.

Anyway, our old refrigerator was from 1996 and so it doesn't owe us anything.  I hope this one will run as well for a long time too.  I'm glad it will hold magnets, but I don't think I will let the kids play with magnets on the lower half as I don't want it to get scratched.  Maybe on the side ...I'll see. I can see where it will make me a bit obsessive with fingerprints, but I have that with the stove anyway.  I just wipe it down with a soft cloth, dish detergent and buff it when I am working at the sink. :)

It seems to have a bit more room in depth, same as width and I was surprised that I felt I had less shelf height room between shelves.  But then I realized the freezer has a lot more height - hence significantly more freezer storage.  I like that.  I saved a couple of the side drawers on the old refrigerator door, washed one out and am using it for other smaller jars so that if looking for little things not on the door, we just have to pull this one out off one of the shelves, like it's an additional drawer - much more organized that way.

I was going to go to Costco tonight so that I could buy organic foods/juices I usually get and stock it up with other things, but ...inspired by the new fridge, I'm in a total organizing/spring cleaning mood and so I'm going with it.  :)

*****************************************
When a friend calls you in the morning and you burst into tears as soon as she asks how you are ...and you immediately go into how frustrated you are because you can't do what you want to do and are tired of hurting all the time ...then it just might be time to schedule for a knee replacement.  *Notice how this SeaSpray went into 3rd person DENIAL regarding this topic?  And that is all She has to say about that.
****************************************
I've been super busy lately for various reasons. Some good.  Some not.  One of them is that Our grandchildren were here four 4 -11 hour days last week and it was so much fun.  Although quite busy.  It was nice that I feel I bonded even more closely with them.   And I am soooooo in love with each of them.  Such blessings in our lives. :)
******************************************

Also, I am seriously considering going back into business for myself.  I've been looking at that again and was glad to have the opportunity to discuss it with another friend who has her own shop and for years has had her own business in which she operated out of her home and traveling.  She is encouraging me to do it based on the things I have been telling her, my sincere enthusiasm for the product and longevity with the company.  I have been with the company for 23 going on 24 years. I LOVE the product and will be placing an order later.  It is like Christmas for me every time the products are delivered.  :)  I only operate at hobby status right now ..buying for myself, gifts and the occasional sale.
*************************************
This is such a great time of year.  So pretty with all the flowering trees (The blossoms on our weeping cherry tree were magnificent a couple of weeks ago. :)and flowers on the ground.  Green grass and leaves on the trees - everything is so green and full of life.  And I love that I am already using my garden herbs.  I hope to expand the herb garden and get a bit creative with design.  I want to sand the Adirondack chairs and picnic table and stain ..or paint.  I haven't decided.  This time of year holds so much promise for what is to come for the rest of our warm weather seasons.  Oh and how could I forget?!  It's almost time to OPEN the pool!  Although it has been in the 30s at night or close to it - so cold.  Unusually cold.  Great for sleeping tho.  :)

Happy Mother's Day Mom :)

Photo: Hi Mom. We love you and miss you so MUCH! You're always in my heart, but especially so today. I know you are happy, healthy and even younger in heaven ...enjoying being in the presence of God and being with family and friends... and making new ones. Oh and angels ...you get to see angels. They must be magnificent. And the perfect beauty all around you ...it must be spectacular beyond words. I have so many questions I'd love to ask about your heaven experiences. I wonder where you live and who you see ..what you do. ? Tell everyone else I love and miss them too ...please. I have so many things that I wish I could tell you ..or have discussions on politics, world events, and get your opinion on so many things. Even when we disagreed because as you often said - we were like oil and water - different ..but loved each other deeply. I miss your laughter ...and your teasing tickles when least expected. I miss your excessively taped presents ..taped as if you had stock in Scotch tape. :) I miss playing scrabble. I miss watching you do a crossword puzzle. I miss hearing family stories and I wish I remembered more of them. And just yesterday I told Chris (he agreed) how much you would love our newest dog, Faith. She'd be crazy about you too. I imagine you in heaven with all the animals you loved, and especially your cat ...sweet Peachy. When we took him in, I was so concerned that he would be afraid of our German Shepherd. But HE put Bob ...in his place and he ...as you would say, "Ruled the roost.", and Bob was afraid of HIM ..a cat. :) I miss how your pretty teal eyes would light up when you were excited about something. I miss you for so many reasons. I loved how you always wore red lipstick, red nail polish and teal eye shadow - it looked so pretty on you.

Oh and Jim is planting a large garden this year. I always loved how he grew the yellow squash and the yellow low acid tomatoes for you and how much you loved getting them, as well as the other vegetables. The corn is already coming up. Wrenna (will be 4 this month), wants him to grow a beanstalk like in Jack and the Beanstalk and so he is going to grow some pole beans for her. You never know... ;)

Most people don't know this about you ...because you were always so private, but I really respected and admired how you helped so many people in your apartment building during the years you lived there. You were a blessing to them. But ..even when I was a young girl, you were always helping someone whenever they needed help - no questions asked, nothing wanted in return and you'd even give out of your own need. And you never one time ..not once that I can recall ...complained about what you didn't have.

I miss how you called me Patty. And I miss our phone playing "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling", whenever you called.

Thank you for all you did for me over the years, Mom. Especially ...thank you for encouraging me in my Faith in God and Jesus ...for seeing to it that I grew in Faith when I was a little girl. You saw to it that the seeds of faith were planted. It has brought insight, joy and peace. Oh sure ...I can still get sqirrelly if anxious about something - but just imagine if I didn't have faith. ;) It helped me make mostly right decisions at a time in my life I could've easily strayed because of the challenging times we had to go through. And no doubt ...I gave you some some gray hair and kept my guardian angel busy - but I never strayed far off track because of those values instilled in me. And my faith also carried me through difficult times. And has given hope ..in this life... and for the next. Thank you for that. Is there any more important lesson?

You would've enjoyed today. We celebrated Mother's Day over at Mom DePue's ...with Mom D and Aunt Margie. The kids, Jonathan, Peggy and Chris and grandchildren were there too. I know you'd be so proud of your adult grandchildren and just thrilled with all your great grandchildren. Devan is is such a sweet girl and you'd enjoy talking with her and be so proud of her. She's still an avid reader too. And the Wee ones, Wrenna and Myles ...no doubt would have you laughing with their antics and extreme cuteness ...not to mention cuddles. The food was delicious. We had our first cook out of the year ...although chilly out. And the flowers are all so pretty. Of course we would've given you your beloved Tabu. It was a fun day for all. :)

I wrote this as if you can't see any of this, but I'm reminded of the scripture that talks about a cloud of witnesses. I recall Billy Graham stating once that he thought the cloud of witnesses were our loved ones in heaven, that God allows to see us during special events. So ..you probably know all of this... and that thought warms my heart. But if not ...I trust that this will get to you in some way. Angel mail? ;)

With all my heart ...I wish I could again look into your pretty eyes and tell you , "I love you Mommy", then give you just one more ...long ....close ...HUG ...like we'll never let go ... and I wouldn't want to.

Happy Mother's day, Mom. :)

Below is a picture of my Mom, Ruby - I think in her late twenties - early thirties.

Happy Mother's day to all the Mom's. I hope your day was special. :)

This is a picture of my Mom, Ruby.  I think she was in her twenties or maybe thirty when this was taken.

The "EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!" Factor - It's Implied in the Vows :)

EWWWWWWWWW!

Even though I opened the windows ...I can STILL smell it!

What you ask?

Well ...I decided to boil eggs for the potato salad and deviled eggs I am bringing over to my m-i-l's tomorrow.  Then I went about other things in another room.  I thought I smelled something charring and thought it was outside because I knew the stove top was clean and nothing was anywhere near the stove.

Then it seemed stronger and from inside.  I immediately went into the kitchen at which point I met Mr SeaSpray who was wondering what was burning.  I said there can't be anything on the stove burning and then became concerned about something electrical and looked over at the fan that fan that has been on all afternoon.

But then ...I saw something on the stove burning and was perplexed because I knew it was clean.

And then I got a closer look and EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Why the "EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!", you ask?

WAIT.

DOUBLE EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Okay ...it was a stupid STINK bug!!!

Flat on it's back, legs up in the air ...crackling to a crisp on the stove burner.  The only thing missing was a toothpick impaled on it rotating on a rotisserie.  Funny how the brain works ..or mine anyway.  You know ...using word association.  After the visual and rotisserie image ...Protein was the next word that came to mind.  I don't know why.  I don't eat and never want to eat bugs.  Perish the thought!

And by the way ...apparently chivalry is dead in the SeaSpray household tonight because ...unaffected by the grossness of the situation ...Mr SeaSpray didn't say anything else and just walked back into the family room.  He actually put his riveting movie ahead of rescuing this damsel in distress.  It was a betrayal of our marriage vows I tell you.  Not the vows spoken ...but the vows implied.  Universally, we women KNOW and so do the men ...that from that day forward ...husbands will jump in to rescue their wives ...or damsels if you prefer ...from all creepy, crawly, slithering, smelly, gross, critters that scurry, or are airborne sonar flying creatures, things that bite and sting as well as bears and monsters ...for the rest of their married lives.  It is not only implied in said marriage vows ...but also ...a universal law.  And we women also know that if we cry out with a shriek (I save that for the scary spiders) ...or a disgusted EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!, that signals them to go into action.  Well ...it didn't work this time. So I just went to the sink to soak a paper towel, back to the stove where I shuddered then hollered out to him, "I'm going IN!" , then forcing myself to grab it off the burner again with the EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!, at which point Mr SeaSpray did come back in to the rescue, but I already had that stinking, smoking bug cooling in the sink.  And ...oh my gosh ..it wasn't just charred it really had an odor.  I immediately opened the windows, but unfortunately the fan that was on blew the odor straight into this room.

And so now I am going to go light one of those wonderful candles I bought last month.  I'm thinking ... Beach Walk ...one of my favorites.  :)

And I'll let Mr SeaSpray get the bug out of the sink.
*************************************************
Psst!  I really can kill a bug by myself ...if I have to, but I really do shudder when going in to combat with them.  And I sometimes scream if they move because they're still alive and I really will feign abject fear so that any male in the area will rescue me from having to do it.  And sometimes I will just let them live so I don't have to deal with it ...unless they are on the bedroom ceiling ...because after all ..who could sleep knowing a spider could drop down on them at any time during the night?  THAT would evoke a blood curdling scream in the night.  Then Mr SeaSpray would probably wake up with a blood curdling scream in the night and then ..well you know ...no one would rest until we found it.

Ahhh ...younger son just put the stink bug outside for me.

All is well now. :)

Beep! Beep! :)

This cartoon reminds me of a couple of hospital stays I had.  No ..I don't look like Road Runner.  And I don't go off running from 0 to 60 in a second.  Nor do I run around yelling "Beep!  Beep!"   now ...THAT ...would be interesting.  :)  But I could've been nicknamed Road Runner a couple of times while in the hospital after surgery.  That is because the only place they could get the IV in was in my right hand and another time in my right arm ...and I'm a righty.  I began feeling guilty for setting monitor off so much because I'd forget and use my right hand not even realizing I did until I herd the beeping.  So I began shutting it off myself ...until one nurse ...understandably ...told me, "You can't do that."  But that was around 5 years ago at least.  Now, I wouldn't be surprised if with all the increased financial challenges ...along with more face time ..vis-a-vis with the computer, providers now have patient self care training videos in their rooms so they can do some of the nursing care themselves.  Just saying.  ;)

Burning Eye!

Help ...my eye is BURNING.  Think sunscreen got in it ..one I've never used.  No matter what I do it won't stop burning.  I rinsed with water.  Did it again.  Put eye drops in.  Rinsed with water.  Then finally rinsed with saline and an eye cup.  Helped a little but still so SORE!  What the heck?

I am close to calling poison control ...but they'd probably say rinse.  Wonder if it's a bad bottle?  I've gotten sunscreen in my eyes before and it never did this.

One Should ... :) And Some Other Thoughts

I'm thinking no one ever wants to get a call from the town police dispatcher... when nothing is wrong.

And no one wants a police officer coming to their door when nothing is wrong.  (I have my reasons... a sad one in my past.)

But ...I digress.

One should know that if 911 is pressed on a cell phone that police will come to their door.  Of  course one shouldn't have been answering a call on someone else's cell phone they are not familiar with... especially when the other person specifically instructed one not to answer that call.  And no matter how much one just wanted to end the probably wrong number calling ...one should've used restraint.

Also ...one really does not want to greet said police officer at the door when wearing a see through robe ...sans under garments ...no matter what said dispatcher ...a woman no less tells them to do.  But one can greet said police officer at the bow window and just lean forward covering upper portion of said see through robe.

But ...then one does NOT want to forget that they are wearing  a see through robe and in a moment of God knows what kind of inspiration ...bolt upward reaching up to open curtains wider.  DUH and OMG!

Furthermore ...one should always remove their makeup the night before ...no matter how late they get in and how tired they are.  Because it does not matter that one is diligent about this 99% of the time ...one should know that because of Murphy's law ...Murphy will make good use of that 1% lapse and one will be embarrassed the next morning when they are seen with raccoon black eyeliner smudged all underneath their eyes ...causing them to look like Uncle Fester on the Adam's family.

Also ...it is healthier for one's skin to have the makeup removed and face cleansed and moisturized for the night - just saying.

At this point ...the fact that one was still sporting BED HAIR hardly matters because after all if one already has the nekkid going on under the see through robe and the black eye circles ...who notices the hair? Right?

And for the LOVE of GOD ...someone please tell me that the police car pulled up in front of our fence did NOT have any kind or camera recording from the side view of the car.  That does NOT happen RIGHT???  Because ...one does live in this relatively small town.  The only thing one has going for them is that they are the poster Girl for before and after makeup pictures ...and so no one would know.

Also ...once one got over the initial reason for the call ...one should n-e-v-e-r prolong said conversation by moving on to another topic ...specifically why hasn't the person who allegedly murdered our neighbor 4 years ago gone to trial?   One should have at least remembered the see through robe, uncle Fester eyes and realized they were headed into the shower for a reason to wash up and become more presentable for the day.
********************************

Seriously ...if I hadn't been caught by surprise like a dear in the headlights with the police dispatcher on the phone and a police officer walking right up to the bow window ...I would've darted out of area to at least change robes, would have seen the black eye circles and washed accordingly.  I could've explained and asked him to wait.  Then he could've come in.  Although perhaps my doing that would have seemed suspicious because the officer actually said (after making sure there wasn't anything wrong ), "I just want to make sure you didn't kill your husband and chop him into pieces."

OMG - did I look that bad to have evoked that kind of joke???  Which was gross and I reacted accordingly, stating I won't even watch any violent documentaries dealing with murder ..or any TV shows  and I have to leave the room when Mr SeaSpray watches them.  He laughed ..but I wasn't laughing.  Maybe his comment is why I thought of the murder of a woman 4 years ago near by.  I had even asked Governor Christie about it just before he was elected ...but again ...I digress. (Another post sometime) The officer said it is coming up soon.  I hope so.

And I just HOPE I did not forget about the nekkid under the see through while I was talking.  I don't think I did.  After he left, I made a beeline for the shower and about died when I saw the Uncle Fester black smudged eyeliner eyes!  I'm still really embarrassed about it all, but do think it is hilarious that I was talking with him oblivious about smudged make up.  If I did ..he would've HAD to give me a minute ...you know ..to hide the body and all.  But it is rare for me to leave it on and so that is why it didn't occur to me.

And I'm thinking it is probably a good thing I wasn't in the shower missing that phone call or his visit to the door.  No one else was home.  I'd of screamed for sure if I walked out of bathroom and encountered a police officer in the house ..and would be even worse heard his voice if I was in the shower.  Would they do that?

I Made a Decision - Miracles DO Happen! ;)

I was about ready to just get a big ice block and an old fashioned icebox ..I tell you.

I can't believe I am AGAIN going out tonight to BUY (this IS it) the refrigerator and that I am still blogging about it. I ended up going down to Sears last night, and really do like the sales rep I had as he was so helpful.  He e-mailed me 3 that I honed in on so I could read reviews at home.  Although he also let me use the store computer and I read some in his presence and we discussed some things.

He was so attentive last week and last night ...just terrific that I asked him if I can give out his name and store location on line in my blog and on facebook. He was happy about that.  So ...I will be steering everyone to him.

I did speak with the man at Karls again and didn't appreciate his flippant attitude (Don't buy it then!) when I expressed some concern based on on line reviews I had read on the model I thought I had settled on.  What I needed from him was to counter those opinions based on his customer experience and be willing to look for additional models that would fit into the area I had described.  So much for supporting a local business.  And in all fairness ...maybe that really was all he could find that their store chain had.  Odd though, since even I could find other models on line.  Not meant to be.  It's been a frustrating process for me for sure.  And I can appreciate that some sales reps probably get annoyed when customers bring up the negatives they read on line.  Oh well.  I also hope it is that most units do work well and and on line reviews are only about the few that don't.

I like this sears guy so much that if we get a dryer ..I would like to also get it from him ...but of course money determines it int he end.  I don't know if it is only Home Depot ...but May is Maytag month and they are also offering an additional 10% off. That being said ...sears guy states he will match ...as do other dealers.  I do wonder if companies make different qualities for the different companies they sell to and I will discuss a negative purchase experience from Home Depot in the future.  Suffice it to know that I will never again buy any doors from Home Depot and will pay the extra money elsewhere.

Anyway ...I know ...it's just a refrigerator!  If it weren't for all the reviews ...I would've just gone in and bought a refrigerator as easily as I have in the past.  I will be getting a good amount of space - definitely better than the French door type that would have to fit into our cabinet space.  I do love the French doors - not the trunk on bottom though.  I like it a bit more but still if I had a choice ..I'd go for the side by side style.   And I got all excited when I saw they had one that would fit the dimensions I needed, but then was really disappointed I could never get a big ol frozen turkey in there. I already knew that ...but hope springs eternal  ...what if?

The one I am most likely choosing is a Kenmore and we have a Kenmore that is still running from 1996.  I like that their side door containers/shelving seems more sturdy than the clear plastic. Also I am keeping a couple from our existing fridge if  can fit/be added.  I think I like the idea of a meat drawer not all the way across now because everything I've read seems to say they keep falling off track if filled completely (in different brands), but I also like that it is still wider than our current one.

I do not like that most of the freezer top models don't have a freezer light.  What's up with that???

But we have two lights over each side of our sink which is across from the fridge and also a small wrought iron candelabra with 4 lights in center of work area of kitchen and so light will shine into the freezer.  Still ..I wold prefer a light in there. I read one comment in which a man said he liked everything about this unit except that he had to keep a penlight flashlight in the freezer for when he needed to find food.  That is just crazy.  C'mon ..designers ...you CAN do better than this!

The truly bothersome thing is that every top freezer unit I looked at has only one temp control for both top and bottom of the refrigerator and there are many comments stating the center lower portion freezes food while the freezer doesn't get cold enough.  WHAT is wrong with designers and manufacturers today?  With today's modern technology this should not be an issue at all.  Also ..even in the fancier models ...I read about broken plastic parts and multiple needs for repairs on new items.  WHY?  It's not right.  And as a consumer ...I would rather pay a bit more for better quality.  I would've paid more than what I will be paying.  That being said ...it will be a better deal then I got in 1996 because he is waiving the 69.00 shipping and I will earn up to 70 points (a store certificate worth 70 cents on the dollar) to apply to another purchase. And because top freezer models are comparatively much cheaper than the newer styles.  And again ..if only they didn't make them all so tall ...I would've gone for the French door type with a quality trunk (if I could have the better pull out drawers on top).  They really should consider that some people have to fit these appliances into previously designed cabinet areas when the refrigerators weren't 67 inches and taller.. We have to fit it into a h- 66 1/4 and w- 33 3/4.  Depth doesn't matter.

Also ...Sears will be having a 15% off Mother's day sale starting Sunday and so if they don't jack up the price before reducing it ...I can go back in Sunday night and get the additional 15% off ..which would certainly be worth the trip down ...AGAIN.  :)

After all this research, I think *I* could sell refrigerators in any store.  :)

Well ...I'm off to the races again.  I should be able to just seal the deal and get to Costco for some things I didn't get last week.  Now that's a plan.

Next post will be something funny ...says me.  :)
